Terms of Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Aside. By using the service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

The service

Aside is a text-message service. We send you occasional questions and, based on your answers, send back short personal reflections and the occasional keepsake "artifact." Aside is for personal enjoyment and reflection.

Your account

To use Aside we verify your mobile phone number. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for the phone number and device you use to access the service, and for activity that happens through them.

Subscription, free trial, and billing

Aside is a paid subscription that starts with a 7-day free trial.

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and your payment method is charged automatically. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.

We may change our prices; if we do, we will give you notice before the change applies to you.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day full refund on your first paid purchase. See our Refund Policy at /refund-policy for the details and how to request one.

Cancellation

You can cancel any time by texting us or through the billing portal. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again.

Acceptable use

By using Aside, you agree to keep the conversation lawful and respectful. You will not:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or to send unlawful, abusive, harassing, or infringing content.
• Impersonate someone else or use a phone number you are not authorized to use.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service or access it through automated means.
• Use the service to harm yourself or others — if you are in crisis, see the note below.

Your content

You own the answers and messages you send us. You grant Lntrns LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content so we can run the service and generate your reflections and artifacts. We will handle your content as described in our Privacy Policy.

Reflections are not advice

Aside's questions, reflections, and artifacts are generated for personal reflection and entertainment. They are not professional, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and you should not rely on them as such.

Aside is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or, in the US, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).

Our intellectual property

The Aside name, brand, software, and the design of the artifacts (apart from your own content) belong to Lntrns LLC and are protected by law. You may not copy or reuse them without our permission.

Disclaimers

Aside is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lntrns LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of Aside. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Aside at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to for legal, security, or operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know directly. Continuing to use Aside after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
