This Privacy Policy explains how Lntrns LLC ("Aside," "we," "us") handles information when you use Aside (byaside.com) — a text-message service that asks you occasional questions and sends back short, personal reflections.
We try to collect as little as possible and to be plain about the rest. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@byaside.com.
Who we are
Aside is operated by Lntrns LLC. We are the controller of the information described below. You can reach us any time at hello@byaside.com.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account details: your name, mobile phone number, and email address.
- Date of birth: used only to determine your zodiac sign, which is where the conversation starts.
- Your content: the answers you text us, any voice memos you send (and their transcripts), and the reflections we generate for you.
- Usage and device data: basic information about how you interact with the service, plus analytics events, so we can keep it working and improve it.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service — send you questions and generate your personal reflections and artifacts.
- Send transactional messages and email, such as your welcome message and billing notices.
- Process your subscription and payments through Stripe.
- Keep the service secure, debug problems, and understand how it is used.
- Comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your answers to advertise to you, and we do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Aside, and only as much as they need to do their job. We do not sell your personal information.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone's safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
How AI is involved
To generate your reflections, the questions and answers you exchange with us are sent to AI providers — Anthropic and Google (through the Vercel AI Gateway), and Groq for transcribing voice memos. They process your content only to return a result to us.
Your reflections are generated for you and are not used to advertise to you.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we wipe your data within 7 days, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.
Your choices
You are in control of your data:
- Reply STOP at any time to pause messages.
- Text us or email hello@byaside.com to access, correct, or delete your information, or to close your account.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and access controls, and we work only with reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Aside is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has used Aside, contact us and we will delete the data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know directly.
